It’s been a little while since I’ve shared a new cookbook with you all, so today, I’m changing that.
It’s Thanksgiving week, we all know what we’ll be cooking this week, right? No need for me to overwhelm you with recipes that you’ll have no time to bake….I’ll save that for next week.
Fresh From the Farm is a beautiful book by Susie Middleton. This book is more than a cookbook, it’s a book filled with delicious recipes and lots of stories. Stories about how the author started out with just a small farm stand at the end of her driveway and was able to grow it into something much greater. The recipes in this book are simple, hearty, and good for the soul.
Obviously, one would expect a book that is called Fresh From the Farm to have a strong emphasis on cooking with vegetables straight from the garden. One would be correct in this expectation. This book is loaded with lots of recipes that you can create using items from your backyard garden, if you’re so fortunate to have one. (Even though many of us don’t have gardens that are currently producing!)
This book is written in a format that is easy to follow and casual. The stories are entertaining and help you feel as though you know the author in person. I loved following along and watch her farm grow and flourish. Also, the book is loaded with gorgeous photography, which is always what draws me in. If you want a little sneak peek of several of the recipes in the book, check out this post on the publisher’s website.
If you’re looking for a lovely cookbook filled with heartwarming success stories, I recommend that you jump online and pre-order your copy so that you’ll be first in line to receive you copy when it releases in February.
