Food Photography: Pain au Chocolat

pain_au_chocolat_2 If you were hanging around here last week, you would have read that I’m working on building my online food photography portfolio to help me find more work. I posted these images and couldn’t have been more blown away by all the kind comments that were left by all of you. You’re all the best…seriously, the best.

So, while perusing my local grocery store for some inspiration for some more test shots, I found myself (as sadly, I often do…) in the bakery section when these croissants just screamed my name. Immediately I thought, I could go home and make a simpler take on pain au chocolat, since rolling out layers and layers of dough is something I only do occasionally.

Is it as good as sitting in a cafe in Paris? Probably not. But really, what is?

This is definitely a tasty albeit (big word for a Monday morning, right?) messy treat that you’ll be enjoying minutes after coming home from the grocery store.

Simply warm your store bought croissants in the oven until they’re nice and toasty. Then, drizzle on some hot fudge sauce that you’ve warmed in the microwave and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips and/or chocolate sprinkles. Done! It’s tasty goodness that you’re sure to love. Bon appetit!
